CORK PROCESSES
The process begins with the maturation of the cork in our special drying room built as in the old days: taking into account the orientation according to the sun and the wind. Here the raw material rests for a minimum of 12 months and its internal structure matures and stabilizes completely.
Subsequently, the cork is subjected to a unique rehydration system (patented), which consists of a continuous shower of clean water.
The cork is then subjected to a cutting, perforation, and dimensional rectification process using the latest technological advances.
We have incorporated an essential technological innovation: the use of compressed ozone and precise temperature regulation. Together, these elements guarantee impeccable and thorough washing.
The next stage comprises a pioneering selection system, based on artificial vision and laser; guaranteeing perfect classifications with total absence of defects.
The finished corks are stored in stainless steel containers in warehouses with humidity and temperature control. There they wait for the moment when you request us to personalize them with the design of your choice for the cork that will accompany your wine.
Then we have a TCA (trichloroanisole) control process to be able to analyze cork by cork and to be able to guarantee its absence from our production.
This process is only done with a laser system that guarantees a perfect definition of the design. Once personalized, the surface will be treated to guarantee a perfect insertion and extraction in the bottle. In the case of specialty corks, a metal, plastic, wood, or glass cap is applied.
Finally, to guarantee the integrity of the product until its delivery to the customer and its subsequent storage, Parramon Exportap uses a unique packaging system, in double-layer aluminized polyethylene bags for food use, which ensures the total hermeticity and protection of the caps.
