Renewable energy at our Biomass power station
At Parramon Exportap, we seek to give a second life to the waste from the cork production process, recycling them as by-products.
One example is cork bark, considered too hard to be used in stoppers, but which finds a new life when it is converted into energy in our Biomass power plant.
This process not only helps reduce the amount of waste, but also optimizes natural resources and minimizes environmental impact.
By transforming this bark into biomass, we achieve a 90% reduction in fossil fuel consumption. These savings not only reduce operating costs, but also have a positive impact on the environment by reducing carbon emissions. Biomass, as a renewable energy source, plays a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable future, where dependence on fossil fuels is minimized.
With this sustainable approach, we aim to encourage the adoption of more responsible practices in the industry, demonstrating that it is possible to combine economic efficiency with environmental responsibility.
